Business Challenge
A global ERP rollout meant the client needed experienced SAP consultants across several modules at once, functional and technical skill sets that don't sit in the same candidate pool, sourced against a 12-month programme with no room for hiring gaps between phases. Falling behind on any single module risked cascading delays into every phase that depended on it going live first.
Our Solution
We stood up a dedicated SAP delivery pod rather than treating each module as a one-off search. Recruiters were split by specialisation across functional and technical SAP skills, so every requisition was worked by someone who actually understood the module's demands, not a generalist stretched thin across the whole stack. That specialisation is what kept average time-to-fill down to 11 days across a programme with a dozen different module requirements running in parallel.
Our Approach
Rather than one generic "SAP consultant" brief, each module's functional and technical requirements were scoped separately with the Head of Enterprise Applications before sourcing began.
Recruiters were assigned by SAP specialisation, not by requisition order, so functional and technical searches ran on separate, expert-led tracks at the same time.
Hiring was sequenced against the rollout's own phase gates, so consultants for a given module were in seat before that phase's work actually started.
Ongoing check-ins through the 12-month programme kept consultants engaged well past the typical contract-hire drop-off point.
Client Voice
“Every recruiter we worked with actually knew the difference between our FI and MM requirements, that's rarer than it should be.”
— Head of Enterprise Applications
The Outcome
96% of consultants placed were still on the programme six months later, meaning the client kept institutional knowledge of the rollout in place through to go-live instead of re-hiring and re-onboarding mid-phase.
